Friday afternoon I finished some new dining room chair covers. When I purchased the fabric, they only had 3.33 yards and I knew it would not be quite enough.
So I had to add a coordinating fabric to the two end chairs. I was thrilled to find something I already had in my fabric stash. I had about five yards of it! I think I originally bought it to make neutral chair backs.
Here is a close up of the end chairs:
I am pretty happy with these contemporary chair covers. I think it will be such fun to set a full table with them. They look like Easter eggs, so I think an Easter table would be perfect!
But since it's not quite time for an Easter table, I set it in a contemporary style with colored-water floating candle holders to match the colors in the chair covers.
I still need to put out the flatware and candles, but I think I like the direction it's taking.

A Taste of Something good...
Well its been a while since the premiere episode of this year's hottest new show,
When the show began, I had a working PC to film current episodes but then my sweet
Ruby Dell came down with the "vapors" and ended up at "University PC hospital"...severe virus they said so we had to stop filming for a while. Lots of work has taken place on the film set in the meantime but for now, I thought maybe I'd give you a taste of something a bit more appetizing. We started our "dream kitchen" not only because it was twenty years old and very tired looking but because of these beautiful inspiration kitchens below, all taken from many different sources...enjoy a taste of what's to come in the final episodes of
Bon Appétit!

Easter Tablescape
Easter will be here before we know it. I was looking for inspiration from some of my previous tablescapes:
Definitely must use the bunny napkin rings!
Ditto on the "Happy Easter blocks".
Not sure if I will use the egg holders this year.
I am tossing around the idea of hanging a tree branch from my chandelier this year and hanging my hand-decorated real eggs from it. Right now I am considering hosting an Easter brunch instead of a dinner.
These previous year tables give me a good idea of what I have to work with as far as the table itself. I don't know about you, but I forget what I have from year to year.
It is not too early to begin thinking of your Easter plans for this year!

"Ruby Dell"
"Ruby Dell", my laptop (so named for her lovely ruby color and her Dell surname)
I'm so distraught and this is so difficult because I have no personal relationship with Mr. Toshiba. Shh...don't tell (but between you and I) I know Mr. Toshiba, PC and I are just being polite to each other right now because we're being forced to share our time together. Really, if the truth be told, I don't think he likes me at all, not accustom to a women's touch I'm sure... so my time posting may be limited for now until my sweet Ruby Dell is out of the PC hospital...can someone pass the tissue please...sniff, sniff...
is at PC University hospital so I'm using the hub's laptop..."Mr. Toshiba PC".

"The Destroyers" episode #3
Well last weeks episode #2 we had the hole in the ceiling which quickly turned from this...
simple little hole...
to this big fat mess...
and I fear it can only get worse...
Oh heaven help me...it can definitely get worse...
yep it's a lot worse and I know it will only get harder as more of my kitchen gets ripped out...
as the saying goes; be careful what you wish for...
Oh dear oh me oh my...this is NOT what I envisioned!!!

The Destroyers...episode # 2
So for those of you that were at the premiere episode of "The Destroyers" here's episode #2...
this is where we left off...packing all of mycrap...uh collectibles...
so that we could start cutting the big hole where the new cook top hood vent will go...now remember we had the old Jenn-Air down draft that just had to go?
the hole is cut and that old upper cabinet is a goner...it was good while it lasted but in order for the hood to go in, we have to replace all the upper cabinets...
there's Mr. La Bella Vie man-handling those babies...in his other life he's a cyclist so he has the power to rip-tear...
Off the wall they go...
and there's the cyclist...I call him skinny, he says "fit for hill climbing"...
bye-bye...its been a good twenty years but its time to part ways...the cabinet not the hubs!
out the door they go...
and the wall is bare...with a tiny hole that didn't stay that way...
making way for the new construction...
now remember this hole in the ceiling, stay tuned because it'll be a featured attraction in the next upcoming episode of...

The Destroyers...
What else do you do on a sunny Sunday...rip apart a perfectly good twenty year old kitchen of course!
But as you can see the rest of the kitchen...not so perfect after all, actually its down right ugly, tired and outdated!
And needs a major face lift and demo of that disgusting, ugly tile that was "oh so popular" twenty years ago when we built our house...
the grout is beyond nasty and the edge of the counters are just awful...let me repeat myself...AWFUL AND DID I SAY UGLY!!!!!!
Get out some of our favorite demo tools...I still can't find that sledge hammer I used for THIS home renovation project! I think the hubs buried it on our property somewhere!
Get out the packing material and boxes to pack up all thecrap antique Depression glass I've hoarded collected through the years...I swear I could be on one of those episodes of "Hoarders"...scary but true!
the nook that the hubs built...it gets to stay but the two side windows will be replaced!
And needs a major face lift and demo of that disgusting, ugly tile that was "oh so popular" twenty years ago when we built our house...
the grout is beyond nasty and the edge of the counters are just awful...let me repeat myself...AWFUL AND DID I SAY UGLY!!!!!!
and that old Jenn-Air downdraft cook top which was again "oh so popular" twenty years ago has seen its day and has got to go. Now the thing is so old, you can't really even get replacement parts for it, but who'd want to anyway!
So in comes..."THE DESTROYERS"...that's us all cleaned up after a bath and when we're not "DESTROYING" things...
anyway back to the topic at hand...an ugly kitchen and a face lift...
Get out the packing material and boxes to pack up all the
so that we can start this major kitchen remodel...
stay tuned for the next upcoming, exciting episodes of...
